Translation

Translation is the rendering of written material from one language (the source language) into another (the target language). Professional translation requires more than a thorough knowledge of two languages. A good general education, excellent writing skills and complete fluency in the source and target languages are all necessary for accurate translation. Transcription

A transcription is the creation of an exact written copy of dictated or recorded information, for example, making a written version of a taped or videoed interview, such as, a police interrogation. In the case of different languages, the information must be first extracted in the spoken or source language and then translated into the target language.
